The captive bird has not only lost the awareness of the cage being a cage, but also of being a bird” Ezequiel Martinez Estrada (1895, 1964).

I used this quote as base concept when creating this Motion Graphic piece during my time in IDEP (Barcelona, 2009). The challenge was to reflect a captive bird going deep into his mind, escaping from the daily routine of the cage, legacy memories sailing, however, the memories are fading away. Super sad. This bird persists in the unconscious and all the experiences that shape it as bird. I guess I was looking also to do something about escapes, the technique was used trying to get a simple approach of this vague memories, so I used a simple 3d tool made for rendering terrains, also Processing (code) and After Effects.
